Petite France

There is no shortage of places to eat in the old town, no matter what your favourite foods are or type of café, restaurant or bar there is something to suit everyone.

Our favourite café for breakfast was Cele Gourmet & Lounge on Placa which is the main street in the Old Town, it is also pedestrianised. There is both indoor & outdoor seating, it’s also a great spot for people watching!

The cheese & ham omelette which came with local bread & salad garnish was delicious and the thick hot chocolate I ordered with it was a dream!

Prijeko Street in the Old Town is a long narrow street lined with restaurants, cafes & bars.

Our favourite here was Konoba Sciabecco where I enjoyed Sea bass & Greek Salad both of which were amazing!

Rich said that his spaghetti Bolognese was as good as it looked! The staff were really friendly and nothing was too much trouble.

Pizzeria Tobasco on Hvarska ul.– is said to serve the best Pizza in Dubrovnik, we certainly enjoyed ours!

I had the Anchovy Pizza whilst Rich has Calzone, both were delicious!

Focaccia Café was the perfect place to stop for a glass of wine and a snack before our climb back up to our apartment!

We enjoyed a sharing platter of Parma Ham, Red Pepper Dip, Sheeps Cheese mixed with paprika, aged marinated cheese & slices of freshly made focaccia.

There were various fillings for focaccia sandwiches on the menu too.

It’s quite small with just a few tables outside but the food is amazing and the staff are super friendly!

Gusto me is a Mediterranean restaurant with a varied menu. It’s a lovely place to enjoy Omelette freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee & a breadbasket for breakfast whilst taking in the glorious view of the walls & the harbour.

We also had the stuffed quid & a beef dish for dinner one evening. The staff are friendly & can explain everything on the menu really well.

You can’t visit Dubrovnik and not take the cable car up to the top of the mountain where you will find the Panorama Restaurant & Bar which has a great menu with outside seating where you can enjoy the breath taking views over the city whilst sipping a glass of something cold! We highly recommend this restaurant.

We stopped by for lunch, Rich enjoyed a toasted sandwich which came with salad, fries & dips whilst I had a delicious chicken burger with herbs, bacon, coleslaw, salad & batata fries ( a type of sweet potato) it was honestly the best chicken burger ever!

The menu has everything from a light lunch to fish specialities & steaks. We highly recommend this restaurant.

If you are looking for something cold & refreshing on a hot day look no further than Peppino’s Artisanal Gelato bar on Ul. Od Puca 9, the range of flavours are amazing,

I particularly liked the lemon pie flavour, perfect on a hot day!
