Silver Globetrotters
Travels - Motorsport - Recipes from Auntie Dd's KitchenAll about us!
Hi! I am Denise, I have a passion for writing, travel and global food cultures, I am married to Rich who has pursued his interest in photography and motorsport for many years.
We are sixty somethings from the UK who believe that being in our ‘Silver Years’ doesn’t preclude us from having new adventures both home and abroad!
My sixtieth birthday saw me fulfilling a long held dream of driving a Volvo truck with a 45′ trailer and successfully reverse parking it!
Always having an adventurous streak, taking the controls of a Tiger Moth plane over the rolling Derbyshire hills where the Dambusters trained for their raids on the dams of the Rhur Valley was Rich’s way of celebrating his 60th birthday.
Friends and family were very surprised or maybe horror struck that despite my fear of heights I agreed to accompany Rich on the 440 feet climb to the top of the Sydney Harbour Bridge on his sixty fifth birthday!
We’re looking forward to lots more adventures in our Silver years!
Having the time now to combine all our passions we hope that we may be able to inspire other members of the silver club who may be apprehensive about setting off on their own adventure!
